Walter Fetterly, 65, passed away on February 20, 2023. Born on November 30, 1957, in Scranton, Pa, he was the son of the late Rev. Walter and Ethel (Waring) Fetterly.
Walter graduated from Wyomissing High School and attended Shenandoah Conservatory and Alvernia University. He was the organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in York, Pa.
Walter was a talented musician. He played numerous instruments and played the organ and piano at various churches throughout his life. Walter had the biggest heart and gave the best bear hugs. He was always a comedian and could make anyone laugh, and he also loved to eat! Walter will be greatly missed.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Kayla Fetterly, Jennilyn Calvert (David) and Shelly Ilgenfritz; two brothers, Paul Fetterly (Sheryl) and Tim Fetterly; sister, Ethel Altig; three grandchildren, Maleah Fetterly, Alexis Calvert and Ella Calvert; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 11th, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 320 N Queen St York PA 17403. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
