Leona A. Shaffer, 83, passed away February 2, 2025. She was the partner of Jose Reyes. Born on January 30, 1942 in Columbia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Laurence Leas and Leona Flick.
Leona enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time at the Dover Senior Center with her best friend, Delores (Dolly). She loved gathering with her family on Christmas Eve, her favorite time of year. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Leona leaves to cherish her memory, in addition to her partner, Jose, children Melissa Wilt (husband Kenneth), Gary Shaffer (wife Kris), Tracy Shaffer (partner Juan Rodriguez), Richard Reyes, Sr (wife Amanda), Ashley Mixell (husband Paul) and Shannon Shaffer (wife Amy); grandchildren, Kenneth Wilt Jr, Rachel Wilt, Zachary Shaffer, Quinn Shaffer, Jared Shaffer, Izack Reimold, Tiffany Shaffer, Brandon Shaffer, Katelynn Reyes, Richard Reyes Jr, Sydney Smith, Dalton Smith, Ryan Reyes and Austin Reyes; great grandchildren, Felicity, Jaxon, Mason, Madison, Jordyn, Bryce, Raegan, Kaden, Aleeah, Benson, Elouise, Delta, Shannon Jr, Aniyah, Adriana, Ariana, Destiny-Faith, Jeramii, Xander, Haley, Bryann, Donovan and Giovanna; great great grandchildren, Jhetli, Athena and Makeo; sister, Lareene Fischer; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by siblings, Linda Clark, Laurence Wayne Leas and Kathleen Kinard.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home Inc, 822 E. Market Street York, Pa 17403. The service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Father Celestine Nwakwuo, OP officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Savior Cemetery. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc is entrusted with the arrangements.
