Elaine Kennedy, 68, entered into rest on April 9, 2020. She was the loving wife of Adam Kennedy. Born on August 3, 1951 in Bamburg, SC, she was the daughter of Rosanell Ford Easton and the late Thaddeus Dowling.

     Elaine moved to York at the age of 9, after completing her education she went on to work at Tremont Restaurant. Before retiring she went on to become the manager of the Best Western Hotel. She was a very friendly and lovable person, who was always making life long friendships. Elaine was the oldest of her siblings, so she was always helping to take care of her younger siblings. At times she could be stern and tough but was deeply loved by all and always gave the best advice. She also had a love for dancing and listening to music. At an early age she became an avid member of Kingdom Hall, where she was later Baptized.

     Elaine leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Adam Kennedy; mother, Rosanell F. Easton; children, Roger Kennedy and Troy (Debbie) Kennedy; siblings, Deborah (Butch) Pinkney, Terry Dowling, Donnie Dowling, Mike Dowling and Joyce (Jesse) Padgett; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Thaddeus Dowling; grandparents, Henry and Bertha Ford and Thad and Olive Dowling Washington and a son, Lamont Kennedy. 

     At this time services will be held privately. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with the arrangements.
