Mari (Mary) Louise Gladfelter, who was 72 years old was called Heavenly home on Sunday, March 29, 2020.  Born June 29, 1947, in Fawn Grove PA, she was the daughter to the late Wesley Jiles and Ester A Akins.

Mari grew up in rural southern York County and Rocks Md. She was the oldest of 10 children.  Her family affectionately called her Dumpy or Kissy.  Mari attended schools in Pennsylvania,   worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years and was a Real Estate Manager until she became disabled 5 years ago.  Mari was a spitfire, loved passionately and greatest joy was her family.

Mari loved to sing, dance, listen to music, travel, be a daredevil (she used to parachute) and garden (she appreciated the beauty and smell of flowers).  She loved to entertain and be the "life" of the party.  She loved to create and receive a heartfelt greeting card. She enjoyed pictures/videos of her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchild. She had such a beautiful and sometimes mischievous smile . The purpose of life is to live it, to venture out on your terms and experience all there is without fear and judgement. Mari did just that.

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind the love of her life, her partner Al Riccio.  His unconditional love was pure and a great example for those surrounding them. Mari's two children: daughter Trina Lewis (Ralph Husband) and son James Pearson Jr.  Mari's grandchildren: Deniece Lehrter (Nick Husband), Marcus Pearson, Aaron Pearson, Drew Pearson, step-grandson Christopher Lewis (Jessica Wife), and step-great-granddaughter Olivia Lewis. Mari's siblings: Joyce Ryan, James Rice, Jeff Rice, Ellen Rosado, Angie Bradley, and Michael Jackson. Mari’s aunt Catherine Waters, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mari was preceded to heaven by her late husband Eugene Gladfelter, sister Shirley Johnson and brother Russell Johnson.

Gladfelter Funeral Home Inc., York PA is entrusted with the arrangements. Due to the pandemic, Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
