Bernice Pinkney-Roberson at the precious age of 86, was given her wings to return home to heaven on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Born January 13, 1934, in Hampton, SC., she was the daughter of the late James Pinkney and Geneva Johnson-Pinkney. Wife of late Elmore Roberson Jr. Bernice served as a CNA for 40 years and retired with the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Bernice attended Unity C.O.G.I.C. She loved dress up, sing, dance, make you laugh and enjoyed her family. 

     Bernice leaves behind to cherish her memory, Daughter, Bessie Roberson-Sutherland; Son, Melvin Roberson, Granddaughter: Crystal Sutherland-Mitchell of Stuart, Florida; Grandsons, Neal Sutherland of Houston, Texas, Jason Roberson, Kareem Abrams of York; Great Grandsons: Ezekiel Perry (Sutherland), Malachi Mitchell of Florida; Great Granddaughters, Haile Marie Sutherland of Maplewood, NJ, Mia Mitchell of Stuart, Florida and host of  loving nieces and nephews in York,PA,  Clyo,Ga; Pinkney, Bowman, Mincey family and friends.

     In addition to her husband, Elmore, Bernice was preceded in death by her daughter, Toyer B. White.
